Maronite Sports Day 2014

Lebanese Australians are closely associated with building and construction in New South Wales.

On Easter Monday the Maronite Catholic Church held its annual sports day at Bankstown. Dial Before You Dig NSW/ACT was proud to be major sponsor.

Over 1,000 participants competed at soccer, touch football, volleyball and basketball.

Maronite Catholics are the followers of St. Maroun.  The Maronite Church has its own distinctive liturgy, spirituality, and system of government.

There are nine Maronite parishes in Sydney from Redfern in the east to Mount Druitt in the west.
